Fast Track to Learning The Violin

Click here to how I became a pretty good violin player

Strings “only sings the heart of the one who plays them.” Strings are mindless entities; they produce sound through the physical act of vibration. At each lesson I say, “Put your heart into your tone, your spirit into your tone,” because our entire personalities are revealed in the tone we produce. To make music is to serve the strings; to create a beautiful, resonant tone; to sing with one’s heart and the living spirit of music.

The bow is what causes the strings to produce sound. When we experiment with various ways to bring the bow to life and serve the bow when
drawing sound from the strings, this is when the strings will resonate beautiful and without distortion, enabling us to learn to play with gentle ease, enjoyment, and beauty. This is also a philosophy for living.

Tonalization:
With instrumentalists, It is critical for teachers to lead their students in tonalizaton exercises at each lesson. Vocalists as well practice a pedagogical exercise called Vocalization in order to sustain and nurture beautiful, refined voices.

Nurturing Advanced Musical Sensitivity:
With  burning desire, every passion just becomes easier to turn into reality, so listening as much as possible everyday to CD of the pieces that you learn can a vital motivation tool. When you listen to the music before you study them, it allows you to develop an internal ability for the piece.

Always strive for accuracy information, a balanced posture, and a natural bow hold.

Practice in Groups
Always look for way to be improved, One of the way to do that is by playing with students in your level and with more advanced students.

Individual responsibility
The daily effort required to master an instrument comes from no deliberate effort but straight from the heart. For one to keep improving, he must keep working on expanding his abilities.
When you have mastered piece A of a violin lesson and has been assigned to the nest piece B; you must not stop practicing A but instead he must practice both A and B because there is always room for improvements.

Tuning
Tuning is at the core of any performance. Always tune your strings to a properly tuned piano or handheld tuning devices and other electronics.

Violin maintenance
be especially careful to avoid exposing the violin to extreme temperatures and excessive humidity or dryness.

Bow maintenance
Before using the bow, tighten the bow hair by using the screw and apply rosin to the entire length of the bow hair. wipe off any rosin and sweat from the stick after you have played. have the bow re-haired whenever the hair wears out.

After all of this is said, a proper mindset and passion for the instrument is the key to being a skilled violinist
