How to Learn The Violin Through Online Violin Lessons

If you are looking for a way to learn how to play the violin with proven and easy-to-follow methods and techniques, then I am glad you have found my site, I urge you to keep reading.

To start, I would say from my experience that the most important thing to take into consideration when thinking about learning the violin is who you will be learning from,you need someone knowledgeable , an accomplished violinist to guide you through the first and most difficult part of playing the violin.

Now, a few months ago, me and my husband decided to enroll our two sons to violin course, we thought about enrolling them in local violin lesson courses but we couldn’t make it work due to my schedule conflicting with the kids’ . So we decided to try and look for some kind of courses online, and that’s when we stumble onto Mr Eric Lewis from Violin Master Pro. He is a professional and accomplished violinist.

I got convinced to enroll the kids after reading about the experiences of Mr Lewis. I mean, if you are going to trust someone to teach your kids or yourself how to play the violin, that person better really know how to play himself, right? This guy has had a long career as a violinist, touring all over the world with the world famous Manhattan String Quartet, recording CDs and all, I mean there isn’t many times where you will have the chance to learn from a master violinist.

shortly after the kids started taking the course, seeing all the fun that they were having, I decided to buy my own violin and started following along, and I am telling you, it has been a great ride so far learning alongside of them as well as spending quality time with them, which is somthing that would not be possible with a traditonal violin course.

Anyway, you can check out Eric’s Website here, that’s it for today.

Strings “only sings the heart of the one who plays them.” Strings are mindless entities; they produce sound through the physical act of vibration. At each lesson I say, “Put your heart into your tone, your spirit into your tone,” because our entire personalities are revealed in the tone we produce. To make music is to serve the strings; to create a beautiful, resonant tone; to sing with one’s heart and the living spirit of music.

The bow is what causes the strings to produce sound. When we experiment with various ways to bring the bow to life and serve the bow when
drawing sound from the strings, this is when the strings will resonate beautiful and without distortion, enabling us to learn to play with gentle ease, enjoyment, and beauty. This is also a philosophy for living.

The Five Conditions for a fast track at Learning to play violin

* A commitment to practice
* A superior environment
* An early beginning
* A thorough teaching method
* A superior instructor

Tonalization:
With instrumentalists, It is critical for teachers to lead their students in tonalizaton exercises at each lesson. Vocalists as well practice a pedagogical exercise called Vocalization in order to sustain and nurture beautiful, refined voices.

Nurturing Advanced Musical Sensitivity:
With  burning desire, every passion just becomes easier to turn into reality, so listening as much as possible everyday to CD of the pieces that you learn can a vital motivation tool. When you listen to the music before you study them, it allows you to develop an internal ability for the piece.

Develop a Balanced Posture
Always strive for accuracy information, a balanced posture, and a natural bow hold.

Practice in Groups
Always look for way to be improved, One of the way to do that is by playing with students in your level and with more advanced students.

Individual responsibility
The daily effort required to master an instrument comes from no deliberate effort but straight from the heart. For one to keep improving, he must keep working on expanding his abilities.
When you have mastered piece A of a violin lesson and has been assigned to the nest piece B; you must not stop practicing A but instead he must practice both A and B because there is always room for improvements.

Tuning
Tuning is at the core of any performance. Always tune your strings to a properly tuned piano or handheld tuning devices and other electronics.

Violin maintenance
be especially careful to avoid exposing the violin to extreme temperatures and excessive humidity or dryness.

Bow maintenance
Before using the bow, tighten the bow hair by using the screw and apply rosin to the entire length of the bow hair. wipe off any rosin and sweat from the stick after you have played. have the bow re-haired whenever the hair wears out.

After all of this is said, a proper mindset and passion for the instrument is the key to being a skilled violinist

Getting Started – Beginner Violin Lessons

Are you a beginner in the world of violins? If yes, do not fret. Getting worried about being able to play this instrument is a normal feeling and we all go through that. If you have a real interest in learning how to play the Violin, all you need to do is to be part of a beginner violin lesson course and this could be done online easily.

There might be a lot of ways to learn how you could play this instrument: online; through a teacher, through books and more, but it will undoubtedly just depend on you and how you would manage the learning techniques and how you grasp the information you get and how you apply it. However, amongst all of these different ways, online violin lessons are in my opinion still the best way to go.

Now that you know it can be done, here are my top reasons why you should take online violin lessons today.

For one, the price is low and as a matter of fact, the price for most online complete violin learning courses is often less than the price of one regular lesson with a private teacher. However, you must bear in mind that the price of online violin lessons may well go up as more people recognize the advantages of this way of learning.

Secondly, you will learn from reputable violinists. They have already mastered the art of playing the violin, so they can teach you extremely well and as its online its still just like a one to one lesson.

Another is that you will get to see all the tricks of the trade. You will be able to learn how to increase energy and hand strength in just a matter of say three days.

Take note if you do not know how to read music you need to learn, hopefully this is something your online course will teach you. Another plus is that music theory is normally part of the online teaching course. This will ensure that you learn to play the violin in every style imaginable.

If you do not have a violin, you need not worry since it will hopefully give you guidance as to how you could find the cheapest violin in town and the best thing about it is they usually have a money-back guarantee. So, if you find your course is not working for you then just send it back and ask for a refund of the cash you paid for it.

Now after reading through these reasons, you are hopefully on the right track in your quest to make beautiful music with the violin. A beginner violin lesson might be a little scary for you to think of at first but actually it is not that bad – its fun.

Just make sure you have the patience and the time for all the hard work needed.

Violin – Music Closest to a Human Voice

Violins, often known for classical music, are now world wide. Violins are now played in country, jazz, rock, bluegrass and blues.

The Violin is a stringed instrument. There are two kinds of stringed instruments: plucking and bowing. Plucking instruments, like harps and lyres, were around long before the bowing instruments.

Violins have origins that come from Asia with a good example being: The Mongolian Murin Huur. The present form of the violin is from 16th century Italy, in the towns of Vince and Genoa, historically both had strong trade ties with Mongolia. Before the violin reached Italy, China, India and other Middle Eastern countries had already developed the Mongolian Murin Huur into three different bowing instruments. The Erhu was developed in China, the Esraj in India and the Rebab was developed in the Middle East.

Like other classical European instruments, the violin has four strings. The four strings on a violin is tuned with pegs to perfect Fifths, from left to right as held in a plying position with the left hand: G, D, A and E.

Violins come in many different sizes for adults to children under under three. The largest violin is 4/4 or Full Size Violin. A full size violin is recommended for violinists age 11 Years and above or those with an arm length of 23.5 inches and up.

The following chart is violin size recommendations based on violinists age and (AL) arm lengths:

3/4 – 9 to 11 years old with an AL of 22 to 23.5 inches.

1/2 – 6 to 10 years old with a length of arm of 20 to 22 inches.

1/4 – 4 to 7 years old with an AL of 17.5 to 20 inches.

1/8 – 3 to 5 years old with a length of arm of 17 to 17.5 inches.

1/10 – 3 to 5 years old, with an arm length of 15 to 17 inches.

1/16 – 3 to 5 years old. with an arm length of 14 to 15 inches.

A finely made violin smaller then 1/2 size is rare or does not exist.

A violin will cost about $100USD and can cost as much as $4,000USD depending on quality and size.

The violin produces a soothing sound, an instrument that I, personally, enjoy playing.

How Does Weather Affect the Tuning of Your Violin or Fiddle?

Stringed instruments are very sensitive to extremes of heat and cold and variations in humidity. The biggest problem that violins experience in the winter is slipping pegs, which shrink in winter when the humidity drops. When they shrink, they release themselves from the box. Many people feel that applying “peg dope” will fix this problem. However, applying this material can actually make the problem worse because it is a lubricant and can therefore cause even more slippage.

One possible solution can be to make sure that the strings are wound in the box correctly. Start by inserting the string in the proper string holes and begin evenly winding them towards the wall of the box that is on the same side as the head of the peg. If your strings are wound to the edge of the box, this will help guard against slippage. Be careful not to wind the string so close to the wall that you can’t turn the peg, or you damage the string.

In contrast, in the summer, the pegs take in humidity and swell. Thus, they can cease to turn smoothly or can get completely stuck. Never try to force them when stuck because it is easy to break the head. Try to decrease the humidity by keeping the instrument in air conditioning or putting a desiccant (drying agent) in your case. If you can’t loosen the stuck peg take the instrument into your violin shop.

Try to keep your instrument in an environment that is fairly constant in temperature and humidity year round. If you are consistently having trouble with slippage, have them checked by your local violin maker to see if they are fitting properly or are in need of new string holes.
